A 20-year-old Lake Charles man was convicted Tuesday in state district court of the aggravated rape of a 7-year-old boy.
Judge Ron Ware, in a bench trial Tuesday, found Ivan Monceaux III guilty of sexually assaulting the boy when the victim was at Monceaux’s home playing video games. The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Monceaux in June 2015 after the victim told detectives he had been sexually assaulted and forced to perform oral sex on Monceaux.
Kim Myers, Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman, said the child was examined at a hospital and had injuries and evidence consistent with sexual assault.
Monceaux will be sentenced April 24. He faces a penalty of life in prison.
