Who is the world’s worst serial abuser of human rights, according to the UN Human Rights Commission? Israel

Who is the world’s worst serial abuser of human rights? Could it be Cuba, the last totalitarian state in the Western hemisphere? China, the world’s largest one party state which jails dissidents, oppresses religious minorities and bars free expression and free association? North Korea, a one-man dictatorship whose gulags are notorious for their brutality? Belarus, where political opponents of the regime are “disappeared”? Uzbekistan where dissidents are boiled alive in cauldrons? Sudan? Libya? Russia? Turkmenistan? Venezuela? Vietnam? Zimbabwe?

Nope.

According to the UN Human Rights Council, the world’s worst serial abuser of human rights is … Israel.

UN Watch recently did an analysis of the record of the UN Human Rights Council. It found that “In the nine years of its existence, the UN Human Rights Council has condemned Israel more times than the rest of the world combined.” The UNHRC has passed 61 resolutions condemning Israel over nine years — and if all goes as expected, the UNHRC’s upcoming resolution on Gaza this week will make it 62. Compare that to just 55 resolutions condemning human rights abuses in other countries – including zero condemnations of China, Cuba, Russia, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Yemen and Zimbabwe.

Here are the totals, as compiled by UN Watch. You can read the full report here:
