Publishers including The New York Times and Quartz are starting to use truncated article pages on mobile in which a “view full story” button appears several paragraphs in. Readers who want to see the rest of the story can tap to do so, and readers who don’t can keep scrolling to view more stories, navigation or even advertising. Quartz executive editor and VP of product Zach Seward says: “The button helps because the ad is more likely to be seen, and in that moment, the user can choose to engage with it or carry on reading the story.”
