It’s Sunday night—aka the weekend, a day of rest, the last hurrah before Monday—and it’s time for another debate between 2016 Democratic hopefuls Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders and Martin O’Malley. Tonight’s debate is sponsored by NBC News, the Congressional Black Caucus Institute and the South Carolina Democratic Party. Tune into NBC to watch the debate or watch online here or here.
And just in time for the debate, Sen. Sanders’ has released his universal healthcare plan a few hours ago. If we’ve got on-the-ball moderators, they should have had enough time to get familiar with it and prepare some questions. You can bet the other candidates will be ready for it.
Their first 100 days:
Sanders: Thinking big, universal healthcare, min wage $15 an hour, rebuild public infrastructure and create jobs. Bring America together to end the decline of the middle class, and create a government that works for all of us.
Clinton: Plans for creating manufacturing, infrastructures, clean energy jobs. Minimum wage increase, equal pay for equal work. Building on Obamacare to bring down out-of-pocket costs.
O'Malley: Lay out an agenda for increased wages, equal pay, comprehensive immigration reform, $15 minimum wage. Clean energy. Also, a new agenda for America's cities, making cities the leading edge for a ew clean economy.
Clinton: Needs to be a concerted effort to end systemic racism in our criminal justice system. Better training of police. Wonders how people would feel if 1 out of 3 white men were in prison, on parole or probation the way black men are.
Sanders: People in prison with lives ruined for marijuana but Wall Street crooks not.
