Oberlin (6-2, 5-0) at South Cameron (3-5, 2-3)
Oberlin took sole possession of District 4-1A’s top spot in the standings last week with a win against East Beauregard. Quarterback James Kirklin and the Tigers will try to keep it that way tonight when they travel to South Cameron, where the Tarpons have been rejuvenated by the return of quarterback Jakin Morales. Morales has thrown for 200 yards and a touchdown in his three games under center this season, while Kirklin has led Oberlin in the Wing-T with 770 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground.
Lake Charles College Prep (3-4, 3-2) at Merryville (1-7, 0-5)
The Trail Blazers righted the ship last week, shutting out Hamilton Cristian 27-0 to end a two game losing streak. While the district title might be out of reach, the Blazers still have a prize to chase, a home playoff game. Merryville has not won since week one. The key for the Panthers will be popping big plays against the Blazers defense, which features a pair of ball-hawking linebackers in Kendrick Simmons and Christopher Meeks.
