As the New Year’s Eve holiday approaches, the city of Lake Charles reminds everyone that the use of fireworks of any kind is illegal within city limits. Under Lake Charles Municipal Code Section 8-3.19, all fireworks shall be illegal in the city except for when permits are issued for pyrotechnic displays conducted by trained professionals.
