Help needed to find culprits behind WMA gate damage

The Allen Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries are seeking the public’s help in identifying the subject or subjects responsible for the damages being done to the gates in the Wildlife Management Area (WMA).

Starting around Feb. 22, wildlife agents have been noticing the gates on several roads in the central part of the WMA, located in the area of the old Oakdale Road and the Pine Island Road, have been bent over or pulled out of the ground.

Wildlife agents said 12 gates have been damaged, costing approximately $12,000.

Anyone with information on the subject or subjects responsible for the damage should contact Allen Parish Crime Stoppers at 337-389-7001 or the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries at 337-491-2588. All calls will remain anonymous.
