The Vernon Parish Chamber of Commerce is offering local business leaders and members of the community the opportunity to experience Chinese culture first-hand this fall.
On Monday, March 27, the chamber will host an informative meeting at the Leesville Holiday Inn Express to discuss the details of a guided tour this October through historical sites along a route through Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou, and Hangzhou. Some of the sites that will be visited along the way include the Great Wall of China, the Forbidden City, the Summer Palace and the Ming Tombs.
Chamber executive director Anne Causey said chamber members will be offered a discounted price for the tour, and if enough business leaders show interest the tour will also provide participants with the opportunity to meet with Chinese businesses.
“I think this is a great, unique opportunity to visit China and experience the culture in a safe atmosphere on a guided tour with a large group,” Causey said.
“It’s a wonderful chance to visit parts of the world that many have never seen before.”
Travel agent Leo Liu will be flying in from California to lead the informational meeting and help answer questions.
Registration forms may be found at the chamber’s office at 1309 N. 5th Street in Leesville.
