JENNINGS — An Iowa, La., man was arrested Friday after he assaulted five people, including two children, inside a vehicle, authorities said.
Michael Jason Stokes, 45, was charged with domestic abuse battery, domestic abuse battery with child endangerment and false imprisonment.
Stokes was arrested after Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s deputies were called to a La. 101 in Iowa in reference to a man fighting passengers of a vehicle, said Chief Deputy Chris Ivey.
Stokes slammed his truck into the rear of another vehicle and then punched the window and hit one of the victims in the face, Ivey said. Three adults and two children were inside the vehicle, he said.
Stokes and the victims fled the scene, but deputies were able to locate the victims after they drove to a safe location, Ivey said. Deputies were familiar with those involved from a previous call involving a disturbance the day before, he said.
