LEXINGTON, Ky. — Four of the five McNeese State track and field athletes competed Thursday in a weather-delayed first day of the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field East Preliminary meet.
Donavon Banks placed 18th in the men’s javelin throw with a mark of 205 feet, 4 inches, missing out on advancing to the NCAA Championships by less than 7 feet.
In the women’s javelin event, Morgan Woods finished second in her flight and 23rd overall with a best throw of 146-3.
Sprinter Tyler Smith clocked a time of 10.55 seconds in the 100-meter dash to finish 41st overall while Nathan Jones, the conference champion in both the 5,000- and 10,000-meter races, placed 29th in the 10K (30:55.83).
