But did you know: While some details about Bill Simmons’ new site The Ringer have been kept a secret, Business Insider’s Jay Yarow reports that Simmons will be partnering for Medium for the new project. With Grantland’s focus on long-form content, Simmons’ newest project could be a good fit for Medium. And while Medium has funded and hosted other original publications in the past, Simmons will be the highest-profile content creator Medium has partnered with so far, Yarow writes.
+ Dave Winer says a risk of putting your work on platforms such as Medium is that their interests don’t always align with yours: “Since you’re counting on them not just to store your writing, but also build flow for it, the inclination is to praise them, to withhold criticism.
