Tribute bands Abbey Road and Jumping Jack Flash will face off in “Beatles vs. Stones — A Musical Shootout” at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, in the Lake Charles Civic Center’s Rosa Hart Theater.
The bands will alternate 20-minute sets as they progress through the various periods of the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. The show’s encore will feature a mash-up of both bands.
“The show, I think, is well-scripted,” said producer Andy Nagle. “It’s funny. It’s a fun show.”
Abbey Road comprises Nate Bott (“John”), Chris Paul Overall (“Paul”), Zak Schaffer (“George”) and Axel Clarke (“Ringo”).
Jumping Jack Flash members are Joey “Jagger” Infante (Mick), Young Hutchison (Keith), Pat Hennessy (various players), Matt Quilter (various players) and Jon McCracken (Charlie).
Francis G. Bulber Youth String Quartet members Andrew Wang, Darrin Nixon, Bethany Williams and Hannah Guillory will join the bands for the songs “Eleanor Rigby,” “Yesterday,” “A Day in the Life,” “Hello Goodbye,” “Hey Jude,” “As Tears Go By” and “Ruby Tuesday.”
