A security guard at a local hotel was charged with rape Tuesday, Lake Charles police said.
Deputy Chief Mark Kraus said a woman at the Holiday Inn on Lake Street awoke on Aug. 20 to find a man sexually assaulting her.
The man — Cameron Alexander Coleman, 26, of 407 Sid Lane — had come in contact with the woman earlier in the night when she needed assistance getting into her room, Kraus said.
Surveillance footage from the hotel shows Coleman enter the victim’s room several times throughout the night after their initial contact, he said.
On one occasion, Kraus said, Coleman is seen using an unknown tool to gain entry to the room.
Coleman was charged with second-degree rape. Bond was set at $250,000
