Ghouls and goblins: Here's where to go to have a spook-tacular

Allen

Haunted Hospital: 7-11 p.m. Oct. 28-29 and 6-11 p.m. Oct. 31, 107 S. 12th St., Oakdale. Admission, $5.

Downtown Trick or Treat: 6-8 p.m. Oct. 31. Business owners, organizations and individuals will have booths set up in downtown Oakdale to hand out candy and treats to children. There will be a pumpkin contest and fun jumps.

Haunted House: 6:30-10 p.m. Oct. 31, Allen Parish Fire District 3, Fairview Fire Station. Bring a nonperishable food item or monetary donation to help provide food baskets for local residents.

Trunk or Treat: 5-7 p.m. Oct. 31, Allen Parish Hospital in Kinder.

Beauregard

Pumpkin Gleaux: 5:30-7 p.m. today, Oct. 27, Amerisafe pavilion on Washington Street. The free event will include live music, food, carnival-type games and activities for children, and a pumpkin-decorating contest.

Gothic Jail After Dark: 6-11 p.m. Oct. 28-29 and 5-10 p.m. Oct. 31, Beauregard Historic Jail, 205 West First St., DeRidder. Admission, $10. Proceeds will benefit the jail-restoration project.

Halloween Fun Run: 7 a.m. Oct. 29, DeQuincy Railroad Museum grounds. Cost, $15. Participants will receive T-shirts. Register with the DeQuincy Chamber of Commerce, 218 E. Fourth St., or call 788-6451.

Trick or Treat Trail in the Park: 5:30 p.m. Oct. 31, West Park, U.S. 171 DeRidder.

“Hotel Transylvania 2”: 8 p.m. Oct. 28, Prien Lake Park. Free admission.

Lost Hollows Trail: 6 p.m.-midnight Oct. 28-29. Shuttle line will start at 6 p.m. Shuttles will depart at 7 p.m. from the parking lot of Spirit Halloween, 3413 Derek Drive. Shuttles will stop a half hour before closing time. Tickets are available at thelosthollows.ticketleap.com and on site.

“Rocky Horror Show”: 7:30 p.m. Oct. 27-29 and midnight Oct. 20, Ben Mount Auditorium, Central School Arts and Humanities Center, 809 Kirby St. Participation and costumes are encouraged. Tickets are $10; visit kcproductionsswla.org or kcproductionsswla.yapsody.com. Call 302-2259.

Family Fall Fest: 4-6 p.m. Oct. 31, Wesley United Methodist Church, 423 Live Oak, Sulphur. There will be a trunk-or-treat, games, prizes, food and face painting. Free admission.

Harvest Festival: 5-8:30 p.m. Oct. 31, Lake Charles Civic Center. There will be games, train rides and concessions. An area for ages 2-5 will be in the exhibition hall. Free admission.

SkeleTunes on the Lake: 7 p.m. Oct. 31, Lake Charles Civic Center, second-floor mezzanine. Free admission.

Pumpkin patch: 10 a.m.-5 p.m. through Oct. 31, Sampson Street, Westlake. There will be family activities and photos.

Pumpkin patch: 2:30-5 p.m. through Oct. 31, Moss Bluff United Methodist Church, 735 Sam Houston Parkway.

Halloween Fun: 4 p.m. Oct. 29, New Faith Tabernacle Church, 16388 La. 26, Jennings. Activities will include a hayride, face painting, fun jumps and a bonfire.

Boo on the Avenue: 3-6 p.m. Oct. 30 Arthur Avenue, Lake Arthur. There will be a haunted house; costume, baking and cooking contests; games; and a pumpkin-decorating contest. Goody giveaway will be at 5 p.m. Forms for contests can be picked up at Town Hall.

Family Fun Night: 5-8 p.m. Oct. 31, Our Lady Immaculate Catholic School, 600 Roberts Ave., Jennings. Activities will include a costume contest, games and a spook house. Tickets are required for food, spook house and costume contest. Tickets are six for $5 in advance at the school office or $1 per ticket on event day.

Trunk or Treat: 5:30-9:30 p.m. Oct. 31, Richmond Park, Welsh. There will be games, music, trunk or treat and a fire truck display.

Founder’s Park Trick or Treat: 5:30-6:30 p.m. Oct. 31, Founder’s Park, Main Street in Jennings. Businesses and individuals will hand out candy. A costume contest for pets will be at 5:15 p.m.; a children’s costume contest will be at 5:30 p.m.

Bethel House of Lights: 5:30-7:30 p.m. Oct. 31, 711 Magnolia Drive, 706 Acadian Drive, 729 E. Academy Road and Founder’s Park, all in Jennings.  Houses will be decorated with lights and will offer treats. Food, drinks and games will be at Bethel Church on La. 102.

Trick or Treat With Veterans: 4-6 p.m. Oct. 31, Southwest Louisiana Veterans Home, 1610 Evangeline Road, Jennings. Residents and employees will hand out candy to trick-or-treaters.

OctoberFest Fall Festival: 5:30-8 p.m. Oct. 28, New Llano park. A parade will kick off the event, beginning at town hall and traveling to the park. There will be games and activities. Food and candy will be available.

Witch Way to Main Street: 5-8 p.m. Oct. 31, Leesville. Tour Leesville’s historic district by trick-or-treating at businesses along Third Street. The Key Club will host a haunted house.
