JENNINGS - A homicide investigation is underway after a man was found dead early Friday in a Spencer Street residence in Jennings.
Chief Deputy Danny Semmes said police received a call around 5 a.m. Friday reporting a shooting on Spencer Street.
When officers arrived they found a male subject inside a residence with a gunshot wound to the torso, he said.
The victim was transported to Jennings American Legion Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The victim is believed to be in his early 20s, Semmes said.
No arrest has been made and the investigation is continuing.
