The Lake Charles Little Theatre will present “Sherlock’s Last Case,” a 1987 Broadway play written by Charles Marowitz, with several shows scheduled this month.
The show will be held Nov. 4-6, 11-13 and 18-20. Friday and Saturday shows are set for 7:30 p.m., and Sunday shows are scheduled for 2 p.m.
Randy Partin, the theatre’s board president, said this is the second production of the Little Theatre’s 90th season. James Johnson is the play’s director.
The five-member cast stars Matt Dye as Sherlock Holmes; Brandon Pleasant as Watson; Greg Stratton as Inspector Lastrade; Jordan Ashworth as Liza Moriarty; and JoAnn Hanks as Mrs. Hudson.
Marowitz’s play is an adaptation of the Sherlock Holmes character created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
Partin said the stage set reflects the time period of the late 1800s. The first half of the production is portrayed in a London flat, or apartment, with the rest of the show taking place in a cellar.
Partin said Holmes and Watson “have a very interesting interaction” in the production. He describes the story as having plenty of mystery and drama.
“They find themselves pitted against each other as opponents in wit and logic,” he said. “They’re adversaries.”
Tickets are $15 for adults 65 and under, $10 for seniors 65 and up, along with students. To purchase tickets, call the box office at 433-7988 or visit www.thelclt.com.
