Three Lake Charles men have been indicted on two counts each of armed robbery and armed robbery with a firearm.
A grand jury handed down the indictments Thursday against Overy James Bigelow, 22; Delmond Davon Rich, 21; and Jamarcus White, 21. White was also indicted on an aggravated battery charge.
The three men were arrested Feb. 1 in connection with two robberies that day.
Lake Charles police said the men robbed a woman at gunpoint at the Hop-In Convenience Store on Gerstner Memorial Drive. They fled the scene on foot, but police set up a perimeter and found them, said Deputy Chief Mark Kraus.
While investigating that scene, Kraus said, the owner of Phone Zone, located next door, told police that three people also robbed his business at gunpoint, taking his wallet and cellphone. Kraus said the wallet was found on one of the suspects as he was being arrested for the Hop-In incident.
Bigelow, Rich and White remain in the Calcasieu Correctional Center.
