Beauregard Parish voters approved the Police Jury’s request to renew property taxes in Road Districts 7 and 8 on Saturday, according to complete but unofficial results from the Secretary of State’s Office.
Voters decided in favor of a 25.95-mill tax in District 8 by a vote of 58-44, or 57 percent to 43 percent.
District 7 voters favored a 32.2-mill tax by a vote of 82-76, or 52 percent to 48 percent.
Parish Administrator Bryan McReynolds has said the tax dollars will allow the Police Jury to maintain parish roads and bridges in the two districts.
