Look, we know it’s painful to consider the alternative to President Donald Trump, but it’s interesting to consider. The post-truth hellscape brought on by Trump’s flagrant disregard for proper policy or truth has undermined the foundations of American democracy. So we say this with a heavy heart: what if Bernie Sanders won the Presidency?
Well, for starters we’d probably be experiencing the exact opposite of the world we’re currently living in. Sanders stands in stark contrast to Trump on just about every issue. Bernie described himself as a democratic socialist. Meaning he wanted to create an economy that works for all, not just the very wealthy.
Sanders wanted to reform the political system, recognize health care and education as rights, protect the environment, and create a “vibrant democracy based on the principle of one person, one vote.”
So imagine for a moment a world where we’re not dealing with Trump Care, where the Russia scandal isn’t a thing, and where progressive ideas of equality reign. The new video from Hoodworks Films imagines just that: a world with “Bernie Care.”
We know, we know, it’s too late to #FeelTheBern, but let’s at least remember the Bern.
