The Food for Seniors program will distribute food boxes at its regular time and locations starting Aug. 30, according to Calcasieu Parish officials.
The previously scheduled distribution was canceled because flooding in the Baton Rouge area prevented delivery trucks from driving into Calcasieu Parish.
The program, a partnership between the parish and Catholic Charities, provides a food of box to seniors who meet the federal income guidelines.
It holds distributions monthly at 17 sites throughout the parish and is continually accepting new registrants.
