A Lake Charles man accused of killing his ex-wife in 2012 was found guilty Friday of second-degree murder, according to the Calcasieu Parish District Attorney’s Office.
Billy Ray Harris, 41, was accused in the slaying of Raymona Gilmore, 38. She was found unresponsive in her trailer at Quailridge Mobile Estate Park on July 29, 2012.
Harris was charged in the death in February 2013. At the time of his arrest, Harris was incarcerated in the Calcasieu Correctional Center on drug charges. Judge David Ritchie set sentencing for Sept. 23.
